Treatments / Injectables

Dermal filler, River Heights, Winnipeg

A clear hyaluronic acid gel placed under the skin to add volume where it has been lost or was never there. It can be dissolved if you don’t like it. Joanne writes the millilitres and the cost down at your consult, and she’ll tell you if filler isn’t the right fix.

  • You can plan around a few days of swelling

Not for you if

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • A cold sore, a dental procedure in the next two weeks, or an active skin infection
  • Under-eye hollows we haven’t assessed in person. If something else would suit you better, we’ll say so.

Planning around a date?

  • 4+ weeks before: Time for it, with the two-week check and room to adjust.
  • 2 to 3 weeks before: Tight. The swelling will be down, but there’s no room for a second visit.
  • Less than 2 weeks: Book it after your date. Swelling and bruising can last up to two weeks.

How it goes

  1. ConsultPhotos for your file only, your health history, and a plan for where volume helps and where it doesn’t.
  2. Written planAreas, millilitres and the total. Filler is dissolvable, and the plan says so.
  3. TreatmentNumbing cream for 20 minutes, then about 30 minutes of treatment. Ice afterwards.
  4. Two-week checkSwelling has gone down. We look at it together and decide if anything changes next time.

Individual results may vary. A consultation comes first, and the plan you leave with is the price you pay. Prices in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes. Changes are free with 48 hours’ notice; later than that, or a missed visit, is $50.

Tamarack plan sheet · Dermal filler
Can it be undone?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler dissolves with an enzyme. If you’re unhappy with filler we placed in the first 30 days, dissolving it is included.
How swollen will I be?
Lips are the most: puffy for two to four days. Cheeks and jaw are usually tender rather than swollen. Plan any photos for after two weeks.
Will people be able to tell?
We work in small amounts and you can always add more at the check. Overfilled is the look we turn down.
What are the risks?
Bruising and swelling are common. Rarer risks, including filler blocking a blood vessel, are explained at your consult, along with how we manage them on the spot.
